Brian and Emily at EmberPhoto keep eking out the turns in Vermont. It’s not exactly advised skiing for your skins or your bases, but well, sometimes you just have to bridge to the next patch of snow…
Thank goodness for smooth grass on a ski resort slope.

Very cool! I was at Stowe on May 10; didn't even realize that the grass might have been skiable, too.
But then I want my beloved Guides to last a few more seasons...

Don't worry about your skis... We are no longer surprised by how little damage grass skiing does to skis - so long as the grass is relatively rock/stone/gravel free... In fact, skiing long stretches of grass without feeling a single rough spot is a fun challenge. When the grass is well established and wet, you can easily make some nice turns, too... Good scouting on the uphill and routefinding on the downhill is key for staying lined up with the smoothest, rock-free grass stretches... and when good grass skiing allows you to connect snow patches right to the bottom of the mountain... Well, it sure beats walking down.
